Oh sweet mother of deep-deep RPGs with strategic and moral decisions, Ogre Battle (1992) is a perfect example of why Enix rocked the early 90′s in a way that made Square have to step its game up from Final Fantasy 3, to Final Fantasy 6 in five short years. (more…)

As a student of the great ironies of life, it was a very warm and happy feeling when I found the “GTD,” or Get Things Done movement whilst wasting time at work. As an avid multitasker, even while relaxing, I’ve often found that when I’m down to just one thing to do, and have an idea of the structure of my week and day, more stuff gets done regardless of my self-image. As I stare at my frontpage, there’s no stupid, personal, meta posts! This is obviously a big problem. It’s up to me to post about all the stupid stuff I’m working on at the moment.
In the last, eh, two weeks, I’ve:
- Worked on college finacing through Sallie Mae and my college
- Applied for two, that’s right, two! scholarships.
- Played a whole lot of Super Nintendo.
- Enjoyed my Moleskine pocket notebooks immensely.
- Read the mediocre book Helter Skelter.
- Watched two weeks worth of Revision 3 shows.
- Lusted for a MacBook Pro more than ever.
- Drank a lot of Pepsi.
- Spent a night at scenic Wilkes-Berre, Pennsylvania
It doesn’t look that hard, huh?
I’ve been using a two-notebook system, a weekly planner (pictured above) and a pocket ruled notebook for my “oh crap that is so going into my National Novel Writing Month book!” moments. Anyone who uses post-its, or electronic organizers really should try being analog with something like a moleskine, with minimal effort, you can delevop you’re own little system.
My moleskine system is easy as heck.
- If it’s a task, it gets a bullet. (information-only is unmarked)
- Checkmark = done
- Circled = pending reschedule
- X = canceled.
It’s a very organic process, and it also makes you think more about how you structure your day. It’s fantastic to plan without fighting your PDA (stupid Garnet, anyways) or Outlook, iCal, or whatever.
According to my Moleskine, i need to find my treo and get some sleep. I would ask you, dear blogogoround, if you have a better/best way to GTD with moleskines, lay it on the comment action below.

Silence of the Lambs takes no shortcuts with it’s fantastic plotting, its fantastic pace, and believable characters. Relationships only hinted at in the film are more throughly explained, making this a worthwhile read to those who’ve just seen the film. (more…)

Than you won’t mind proving it. MSNBC has an online quiz that tests your knowledge of how our super-duper country is owned and operated. (more…)

As I sit here wrapping up a pretty good but by no means great stromboli from a local eatery here in the Mayfair section of the city, we get into a discussion about where we buy some of our local favorite foods within the city. From Pizza to Cheesesteaks, Burgers to Hot Dogs, Water Ice to Pretzels, with a few other choices thrown into the mix. (more…)
